Leah Pommier is a contemporary artist residing in Denver, splitting her time between several U.S. cities. She draws much of her inspiration from traveling, taking in the diverse environments she encounters.
With a strong connection to the desert, and a love for the simple grandeur of desert architecture, flowing arches and stucco tones are common in Pommier’s work, while interest in history and mythology lends other inspiration. Ancient and modern symbols often show up in her pieces, commonly symbols of femininity, sexuality, and love. The juxtapositions of light and dark, rigid and soft, brutal and tender are metaphors often contained in her work.
Hopes for the near future include getting studio space to sustain large pieces, gallery features domestically, and creating and showing work abroad.
